What's in a name?

No one can remember how Monkey Mia came by its strange sounding name...It's been suggested that it's a combination of the name of colonial survey ship " The Monkey" which visited in 1830 and an Aboriginal word Mia - meaning place or home - whatever its origins - no one will ever forget their first view of the Bay and the spectacular contrast of sky, crystal clear water, white sand beaches and dark red hinterland.

The Monkey Mia Dolphin Resort overlooks the famous Dolphin Beach and provides a full range of accomadation. Camping - Backpack areas - Caravanpark - Family Homes and Luxuray Motel style beachfround villia's.

A truly special place on earth.
