| Brief History of the Telecentre |

| The Morawa Community Telecentre Inc. started operations
on the 20th June 1994 with strong community support, ie.
money, equipment and time. We leased the former Catholic
Primary School, which made ideal accommodation, as it
has two adjoining classrooms. |

| We applied to DPIE (Commonwealth Department of Primary
Industries and Energy) for funding at this time, for a
Co-ordinators wages & for the purchase of equipment. We
received our first year funding in 1995/96 and part of
our second year funding in 1996/97. |

| In 1997/98 at the conclusion of our DPIE funding, we
applied for/and received funding through the WA Telecentre
Network and with their help we were also able to secure
a Grant from the WA Lotteries Commission for the purchase
of new equipment. |

| We have sinced moved to new premises on the 4th October
1999, the former Challenge Bank building located in Winfield
Street (the main street) in Morawa. |
