| Railway Track Geometry Measurement
Systems
The MRX Technologies Track Recording System is
a high performance measuring system that incorporates inertial, non-contact
measurement techniques with digital signal processing and computing technology.
Irregularities in the track geometry are detected and quantified by evaluating
input data to produce a set of track parameters.
| |
| Many output formats are possible,
depending on the requirements of the railway maintenance staff. In particular,
the following parameters can be calculated and presented in a variety of ways:
- Vertical Profile
- Horizontal Alignment
- Gauge
- Crosslevel
- Curvature
- Twist
The track information is presented
graphically in track record charts while faults are presented in exception
reports.
Also, a Track Quality Index is
calculated which is based on the standard deviation of several of the track
parameters. This can be used to gain statistical information about the track
condition and can be monitored over time. These normalised track condition
reports allow management to assess the state of the track and the effectiveness
of track maintenance without the need to interpret numerical data.
