The Western Australian Government Railways(WAGR) operates an extensive 3'6" gauge railway system covering the south west portion of the state, in addition to the  Standard Gauge line connecting Perth to Kalgoorlie and  the ex Commonwealth Railways standard gauge line east from Kalgoorlie to the Eastern States. There are also private standard gauge lines servicing the large iron ore mines in the Pilbara Region of the state
Links are provided to Australian Railway Historical Society( WA Division) (ARHS) which operates  The Rail Transport Museum at Bassendean, a suburb of Perth, and the Australian Model Railway Association ( WA Branch) (AMRA) which has a group for those interested in modelling the WAGR.
