Tenders have been called by Westrail for construction of 40 XF alumina wagons and 6 JK caustic wagons.

A1511 is located at Forrestfield as shunter.
A1514 is located at Picton as shunter.
A1513 is being used as parts supply.

Work is currently being undertaken to provide a balloon loop at Calcine for use by alumina trains and future bauxite trains.

Trans Rail has bought 7 L class locomotives from Westrail.

It is understood that the EL class locomotives currently at Goninans (Bassendean) have been sold.

Reports continue in the West Australian newspaper regarding legislative changes necessary to enable the sale of Westrail As is expected the situation is highly politicised.
