My name is Mick Stott and I live on the South Coast of Western Australia.
I'm in my sixties and have been supporting myself by writing for the past fifteen years. Like most would be authors I've always dreamed of the big break and had my share of fantasies about fame and fortune. |
So you want to be a Writer?.If you really want to be a writer be prepared to work hard, to give up your social life, to work longer hours than you've ever worked before in your life.Be prepared to accept challenges to your sanity and the sneering doubts of family and friends, that's of course if you have any left after a while. |
Be prepared to accept rejection and dispair, and to be told by all and sundry that your writing sucks. Be prepared to face self doubt, financial hardship and enough rejection slips to paper a large room. But if you really want to write, you will, and if you have the talent you will succeed and be published. All it takes is determination, and being to bloody stupid, and to bloody minded, to give up |
