The Tail Isa 9:15Wagging the Dog

Mar 2:27 And he said unto them, The sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath:

Jesus keeps the sabbath by his manner of life

leaving us an example

Isa 58:13 If thou turn away thy foot from the sabbath, from doing thy pleasure I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me. on my holy day; and call the sabbath a delight, the holy of the LORD, honourable; and shalt honour him, but he that seeketh his glory that sent him, the same is true, and no unrighteousness is in him. not doing thine own ways, nevertheless not what I will, but what thou wilt. nor finding thine own pleasure, for I do always those things that please him. nor speaking thine own words: the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself

Here is the sabbath God requires

(Jesus kept this True Sabbath)

(He Did not Keep The Shadow)

John 14:10 Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works. (True Sabbath)

John 5:16-17  16 And therefore did the Jews persecute Jesus, and sought to slay (
letter kills) him, because he had done these things on the sabbath day. (shadow)

17 But Jesus answered them, My Father worketh hitherto, and I work. (True Sabbath)

Jesus keeps the true Sabbath
. Pharisees enforce the shadow

Pharisees interpret everything from the natural Perspective

Mat 12:1-2 At that time Jesus went on the sabbath day through the corn; and his disciples were an hungred, and began to pluck the ears of corn, and to eat.  But when the Pharisees saw it, they said unto him, Behold, thy disciples do that which is not lawful to do upon the sabbath day. Was Jesus Provocative or teaching us a spiritual truth.

Strange answer from Jesus. If you use the Pharisees method of interpretation then David was a law breaker and so were the priests.

Matthew 12:3-5  But he said unto them, Have ye not read what David did, when he was an hungred, and they that were with him;  How he entered into the house of God, and did eat the shewbread, which was not lawful for him to eat, neither for them which were with him, but only for the priests? Or have ye not read in the law, how that on the sabbath days the priests in the temple profane the sabbath, and are blameless?

Jesus said according to the letter of the law the priests profane the sabbath and are blameless.

Interesting  the sabbath  didn't apply to the priests.

This is true the priests were instructed minister in a way that broke the sabbath. Something Jesus knew, I now know, and the Pharisees couldn't see and you need to study to find out!

Here's another question Jesus asked on another occassion

Mat 22:41-46  While the Pharisees were gathered together, Jesus asked them,  Saying, What think ye of Christ? whose son is he? They say unto him, The Son of David.( Good answer but a natural one) He saith unto them, How then doth David in spirit call him Lord, saying,   The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, till I make thine enemies thy footstool?  If David then call him Lord, how is he his son? (A natural son is not greater than his natural father) The answer the Pharisees gave was correct, but conflicted with and Jesus quote of Ps 110:1    And no man was able to answer him a word, neither durst any man from that day forth ask him any more questions.

There is the letter of the word and there is the spirit, and they as the above example contradict each other. If you keep a literal seventh day. ie Saturday then your interpretation is literal and is the same as that held by the Pharisees.

Jn  9:16 Therefore said some of the Pharisees, This man is not of God, because he keepeth not the sabbath day.

Summary,

Heres another nugget

Heb 4:4-5   For he spake in a certain place of the seventh day on this wise, And God did rest the seventh day from all his works. And in this place again, If they shall enter into my rest.

Thank you to the writer of Hebrews now I know that the sabbath I MUST keep is spiritual.

For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his. Heb 4:10

what can I say if you can't see the Sabbath here you need glasses.

Heb 4:11  Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief. ( the letter of the law was implemented to kill the carnal nature, as Paul said when the commandment came sin revived and I died)

Rev 14:13  And I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Write, Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth: Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours; and their works do follow them.

Gal 2:20  I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.

I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain.
Grace and Law mentioned here, one frustrates the other. Why would you despise the Spirit of Grace

Had an email from a guy who has his own website, about sabbath keeping and the ten commandments.

I could not make head nor tail of what he was talking about.

So I asked him straight out  "Do I need to keep the sabbath to be saved" Yes or No?"

He replied with pages full of  website links, reference works.

So I asked him the same question "Do I need to keep the sabbath to be saved" Yes or No?"

He again replied with pages full of  website links, reference works.

I asked him a third time "Do I need to keep the sabbath to be saved" Yes or No?"

He accused me of Interrogating him and became aggressive and defensive

He then said no man is justified by the works of the law

But if you do not keep the law you will not be saved

This would be funny if it wasn't so serious

1Ti 1:7 Desiring to be teachers of the law; understanding neither what they say, nor whereof they affirm.

Gal 5:16  This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh. :25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.
