Mark Skaife is a great ambassador and spokesman for the sport of V8 Supercar

Racing. He is the consummate professional, very well educated and extremely

well spoken. Watch any serious interview of Mark’s and you will notice how

professional and well spoken he is. On the other hand, however, he is quite the

comedian, with a fantastic sense of humour. Tune into “The 3 Stooges” segment of

“RPM” on race days, “V8 Superstars”, or any lifestyle program Mark has appeared

on, such as “Rove Live”, and you will see what I mean. (Check out the Quotes page

for some of his best lines!!). With the perfect mix of professionalism, humour, and

knowledge, Mark is a joy to watch and listen to.

At the race track, Mark is extremely focussed on his racing, and obviously very busy,

yet still manages to find the time to sign autographs for his many fans.

He is known to be one of the first at the track in the mornings and the last to leave

at night (see “The Rack” “V8X Magazine” Issue #4), again, ever the professional.

Mark is one of the busiest drivers in the series, with not only his racing, testing,

preparation, and sponsor commitments, he is also a spokesman for “Holden Special

Vehicles” (see the Mark and HSV Page), appears on various TV shows, does magazine

and newspaper interviews, personal appearances at functions and meet the drivers

shows for fans. He was also fundamental in the planning of the “GMC 400”, being part

of the track design team, and being a spokesman at the launches for the race.

Mark is also a regular panelist on “V8 Superstars”, an excellent innovation in

Touring Car TV. Between him and Russell Ingall, it gets fiery, and extremely

funny!! Some say Russell is the biggest stirrer, no doubt he is the most

controversial, but I think Mark is the biggest stirrer of the bunch, getting shots in

every which way. With his quick wit and superb timing, he is hilarious to watch.

What more can I say, the man is my hero..........
