2003 CHAMPIONSHIP WRAP-UP
The 2003 Championship has not been the best year for Mark, Todd or the
Holden Racing Team. With ridiculous penalties, mechanical failures, driver
errors and just plain old bad luck, it's been a year to forget. That said
however, Mark finished a solid 3rd in the Champion (almost 2nd but we
won't go there) and both him and the team should be congratulated for
that. It goes to show the calibre of Mark and the Team that despite
everything, they still finished 3rd. Well done to Todd Kelly as well, who
had some great results towards the end of the year. Roll on next year and
let's get HRT back up the front where both them and Holden belong!!

HRT LAUNCH 2003 CARS AT SANDOWN

On Monday 24 February 2003, the Holden Racing Team Launched their 2003
cars at Sandown International Raceway. The new VY Commodore is rather
different to last year's VX and HRT have also launched a fantastic new logo,
with a great new livery on the cars.

MARK SKAIFE PHOTOS OF OLD
I have recently come across some older photos of Mark from the last
few years. Although these are not relevant to this year's series, I will still
display them here as they are new acquisitions. These were taken by Paris
Charles, a fantastic Adelaide-based motorsport photographer, who does
Speedway Photography during the Speedway Season and also does Touring
Car photography, particularly at the Adelaide 500. Paris has a lot of fantastic
shots, so if anyone wants any information or wants to purchase any of Paris'
photos from either Speedway or Touring Cars, please do not hesitate to

MARK SKAIFE - DIARY OF A CHAMPION
Mark launched a new book in October, entitled "Mark Skaife - Diary of
a Champion". It is a book covering Bathurst 2001 to Canberra 2002, and
is in a Diary format. It was published by Harper Collins. The book is a
fantastic read and gives an excellent insight into Mark's life on and off
the track and what he gets up to throughout the year, from race events
to HSV Meetings, Meet The Public shows, and even gives an insight into
his personal life with family and friends. It also features lots of great
colour and black and white photos, Mark's achievements, profile, a full
list of results from Bathurst 2001 to Canberra 2002 and with Mark's
great sense of humour tells stories and events that show what Mark
is really like.
The book can be found in all good book shops, and retails from around
$20 to $30, depending on which shop you visit.
