THE 2006 CHAMPIONSHIP
2006 CHAMPIONSHIP INTRODUCTION
The 2006 Championship officially begins in Adelaide at the Clipsal 500 from
March 23 to 26. Unlike previous years, this will be the first race of the year,
due to the Australian Grand Prix date change. This will therefore be the first
time in many years that the teams do not have a non-Championship race to
begin the season, which also helped to test the cars, drivers and equipment.
The 2006 Championship will also see a full reverse-grid race for all three-
race rounds, a controversial decision which has divided drivers and fans.
The Holden Racing Team driver line-up has not changed, with Mark Skaife
and Todd Kelly again driving for the team, both of whom want to regain the
Championship for both Holden and the Holden Racing Team. Good Luck!!
IT'S A BABY GIRL FOR MARK & TONI!!
On 10 March 2006 at 5:30 am, Mark's wife, Toni, gave birth to a baby
girl at Cabrini Private Hospital in Melbourne. The baby, Mia Rose Skaife,
is Toni's first and Mark's second, and weighed in at 2.94 kilograms.
Congratulations to Mark, Toni and the whole Skaife family!!
HRT LAUNCH 2006 CARS

On Friday 10 February 2006, the Holden Racing Team launched their 2006
cars. The new livery is similar to the 2005 cars, but is much brighter and
includes the return of black features on the sides of the car. HRT have
also added Dodo to their list of sponsors for the 2006 season. As well as
launching the cars, HRT announced that Jim Richards and Ryan Briscoe
will be joining them for the Sandown and Bathurst endurance races.
