2007 CHAMPIONSHIP INTRODUCTION

The 2007 Championship officially begins in Adelaide at the Clipsal 500 from

March 1 to 4. For the first time in years, the V8's will not be racing at the

Australian Grand Prix in Melbourne, due to a change in their schedule and

there not being enough time in between Championship races in Adelaide

and Perth to allow them the opportunity to race at the Grand Prix.

The 2007 Championship has a revised points structure, with points only for

the top 15, which rewards passing and winning. The Top Ten Shootout will

now only occur at the endurance races at Sandown and Bathurst. Qualifying

will now be similar to the new Formula 1 qualifying, where all cars will be

out on the track for a short period of time, and only the top 20 go through

to the second session, and then only the top 10 get through to the final

session to fight it out for pole.

Again, the Holden Racing Team driver line-up has not changed, with Mark

Skaife and Todd Kelly again driving for the team, both of whom want to

retain the Championship for Holden and give the Holden Racing Team

another Championship win. Good Luck!!

HRT LAUNCH 2007 CARS

On Friday 16 February 2007, the Holden Racing Team launched their 2007

cars. The new livery is vastly different to previous years, with the HRT cars

returning to the 1980's era, with the bright "Day Glo Red" paint job on the

new VE Commodores. As well as launching the cars, HRT announced that

Glenn Seton will be joining them for the Sandown and Bathurst endurance

races, with the fourth driver to be announced during the year.

ANOTHER BABY GIRL FOR MARK & TONI!!

In late October 2007, Mark's wife, Toni, gave birth to a baby

girl. The baby, Tilly Skaife, is Toni's second and Mark's third,

and is a little sister for 12-year-old Mitch and 20-month-old

Mia. Congratulations to Mark, Toni and the Skaife family!!
