2008 CHAMPIONSHIP INTRODUCTION

The 2008 Championship again begins in Adelaide at the Clipsal 500 from

February 21 to 24. The 2008 Championship again has a revised points

structure, with points going back through the entire field.  Qualifying will

remain as it was last year, where all cars will be out on the track for a 15-

minute session with only the top 20 going through to the second 10-minute

session, and then only the top 10 going through to the final 10-minute

session to fight it out for pole.

 

The Holden Racing Team driver line-up has changed significantly, with

Mark Skaife remaining, but with Todd Kelly moving across to Jack Daniel's

Racing, Garth Tander will now join the Holden Racing Team after moving

from the HSV Dealer Team. The Holden Racing Team has a new naming

rights sponsor, with the team now being known as the Toll Holden Racing

 Team. With Garth joining the team, HRT will now carry the #1, after he

won the Championship last year.

 

 

HRT LAUNCH 2008 CARS

In January 2008, the Holden Racing Team launched their 2008 cars. 

The new livery is similar to last year's, with the HRT cars retaining

the bright "Day Glo Red" paint job on the new cars, although the

cars are now predominantly white. As well as launching the cars,

HRT announced that Glenn Seton will again be joining them for

the Phillip Island and Bathurst endurance races, together with

Craig Baird.
