Heidi
Sommer-Stinson is Austrian by birth, lived many years in the U.K., but has been
in Australia since 1969. She has wide experience in the catering business &
also owned and ran a still-existing restaurant in Melbourne. In 1999 she retired
from teaching having been an impactful educator with decades of expertise in Primary, Secondary and Special Education. She is an accomplished
cook, host and historian, but also created Auntie-Freeze and Oom-Ma-Ma Clown to
partner David’s alter egos. Together, as Australian citizens, Heidi and David
bring a refreshing and truly international flavour to the town via the new
restaurant, and a sensitive appreciation
for historic Northampton.

David
Stinson’s career in the catering industry is of the highest standard. As an
American, he has worked as a ‘Captain’ in several ‘Silver Service’
restaurants in the U.S.A. mainland and Hawaii. He is also a successful
singer/songwriter, entertainer, compere, and music teacher with over 25 years’
experience. He has created two characters for children - Uncle Jump and Oom-Pa-Pa
Clown - and toured the world for eight months in 1999. Regionally, as U.J.,
David has hosted children’s radio and television shows in Perth, Fremantle,
Rockingham and Mandurah. As Oom-Pa-Pa, he has performed in parades and at
festivals and parties. Today, he combines these careers at the B&B and
supplements his role as host/waiter at Heidi’s Restaurant.
