We started on Friday with a sensational late autumn day for our Golf Tournament, won by Sean Dorman’s team (who also took out the “Buggy Demolition Derby” Trophy. Friday night produced a highly entertaining Question & Answer session topped off with Gary Jameson playing us through to the end of the evening. What can we say about the Gala Ball, 540 people having the time of their lives. The Royal Australian Navy Band was a tremendous crowd pleaser, filling the dance floor even as the food was being served. Max Kaye proved to be every bit the professional entertainer as he MC’d the evening perfectly. The Guest Introductions and speeches preceded emotional tributes to Jinky and Tommy Burns and the Gala Raffle gave away some tremendous prizes while raising a significan amount towards our charities. Charlie & The Bhoys had a tough act to follow but did not let anyone down as they lifted the evening higher with their repertoire of Celtic tunes. Sunday Afternoon’s Family Day provided fun for little kids and big kids alike. The Coaching Sessions were a fantastic success for the little kids while the bigger kids played out an entertaining “friendly” game which degenerated into 16-a-side. Sunday’s Farewell Soiree provided us the opportunity to farewell our VIP guests and each were presented with some Australian and some Perth CSC memorabilia. Charlie & The Bhoys seized the opportunity to play their full set and provided a backdrop to some memories which will last a lifetime.
