The Thomas and Bishop Family History |
|
A little about John and Judy Thomas Hi we are John and Judy (nee BISHOP) THOMAS of Mandurah in Western Australia. We moved to Mandurah in April of the 2006 after having spent the past 10 years living in beautiful Esperance, this move was made to be closer to our children and grandchildren, also specialist medical facilities which with age we are finding are becoming more of a necessity. Judy and I married in Kalgoorlie in 1963; we have four wonderful children who have presented us with eight even more wonderful grand children. Prior to 1996 we lived in Kalgoorlie, Western Australia (the Gold Capital of Australia) for in my instance 35 years and Judy all her life. My work in Kalgoorlie was mainly in Accounting, Administration and Management after starting working life as a Delivery Boy in Perth at age 14 before travelling to Wales after the death of my father in 1952 and I worked in the Maerdy Colliery, Maerdy, Rhondda for seven years firstly as a boy working in the Coal seams and later in the Electrician Department. I returned to Australia in 1961. After retirement in 1996 we moved to live in Esperance on the South East Coast of Western Australia. Since retiring we have caught up to the 21st Century and have to some extent become computer literate and familiar with the World Wide Web. With this knowledge over the past few years and in answer to one of our son’s questions we commenced researching our family's history, this hobby which has become a passion, has brought together, ancestors from all over the United Kingdom to form our present family group. More information is available on the individual family pages. During your time with us please enjoy your stay and hopefully find a relative or two. We would appreciate any and all positive or negative, feedback on this site and look forward to continuing our work in progress which is our family research and the growth of this site and the hobby of Family Research. We wish you good hunting for your ancestors and may all your brickwalls become low stone fences. Please come and visit us again and again and see if we can find a common link. |
