MCDA:

MELROSE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT ASSOCIATION

The Melrose Community Development Association was formed more than 20 years ago to develop community projects in and around Melrose for the betterment of the Melrose and surrounding community and to promote local tourism.

Some of the successful projects completed under the auspices of MCDA are -;

  1. Erection of a Gazebo in Memorial Park.
  2. Paradise Square development.
  3. Tourism Information Bay development.
  4. Annual Christmas Tea and Father Christmas.
  5. Sealing of Joe’s road to the Monument.
  6. Upgrade of the War Memorial Monument.
  7. Goyder’s Line, signage.
  8. Annual four-wheel drive event.
  9. Signage on the toilet block near the Town Hall.
  10. Annual quiz night.  
  11. Completed the development of the rose garden in Paradise Square.  
  12. Toilets in Paradise Square.

Some of the future projects of MCDA are -:

  1. Develop Melrose as a Bicycle centre in cooperation with Bicycle SA.
  2. Improve the town Southern road entrance to Melrose.

MCDA is a community run organization and would welcome new members and new ideas.  Monthly meetings are held in the old RSL building on the second Tuesday of every month starting at 7.30 pm.
