"Bartagunyah" is in the Southern Flinders Ranges
near Melrose(150 years
old in  2003) in South Australia. This is a unique property adjoining the
southern ridge of the beautiful and rugged Mount Remarkable. The property is used for woolgrowing and lamb production,
and viticulture. It is hidden away in a valley in the hills about 5km South of
Melrose along the historic Survey Road.  Open for winetasting, mountain bike
tours,
and camping, it specialises in high quality Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, and
Viognier. There are lots of great walks and incredible mountain bike
single-tracks with fantastic views, delicious yabbies in the dams, plenty of
wildlife including euros, goannas, eagles, kites, kestrels, falcons, ...a
massive variety of bird species, and much more. There are even a few hairy
Highland Cows to remind us of the Auld Country in Scotland. |
