I have just commenced a series of sixteen lessons with Red Rose Web Design. This page is not only the first lesson but also the entry into the rest of my portfolio.
Hopefully we'll see much progress made as I move through these lessons.
Each week I'll design a webpage around one of my graphics or one done in collaboration
with another artist. (N.B.: Unfortunately, my graphics weren't always suitable, so sometimes I used the work of other artists.) The graphic on this page is adapted from an illustration in Ocean Fairies.
The main focus of this week's lesson is to design a page using the main colours of the graphic, and to create simple patterns and a gradient which coordinate with and enhance the design of the page.
Below are colour swatches, patterns and gradient created from the graphic.
PSP was used to create these simple patterns, and of course the twinkles were just star tubes.
