A rich and diverse science and research culture has been part of the Park for over a decade.  The focus of the science performed at and around the Park is aimed at better understanding the rich fauna, flora and geology of the region.  Research scientists from universities and herberiums from around the globe frequent the Park at all times of the year.

The Park has already played host to the study of the life cycle of the sand plain Banksia’s, geological dating of lake systems to the discovery of new species of flora and fauna.

A microscope facility available to researchers and the public enables the micro ecology of the region to be discovered, like the hydraulic fertilisaing mechnism of the trigger palnt, Styladium (picture top left).
