A rich and diverse
science and research culture has been part of the Park for over a
decade. The focus of the science performed
at and around the Park is aimed at better understanding the rich fauna, flora
and geology of the region. Research
scientists from universities and herberiums from around the globe frequent
the Park at all times of the year. The Park has already played host to the study of the life cycle of the
sand plain Banksia’s, geological dating of lake systems to the discovery of
new species of flora and fauna. A microscope facility available to researchers
and the public enables the micro ecology of the region to be discovered, like
the hydraulic fertilisaing mechnism of the trigger palnt, Styladium (picture top left). |
