Welcome to Mirkwood Cattery Online...

My name is Jeanne Wheeler and I am proud to be the originator of the Selkirk Rex breed in Western Australia.

Mirkwood Cattery is situated about an hour out of Perth in a valley at the edge of the Darling Ranges. Here our cats share the 10 acres with Alpacas and chooks!

All our cats and kittens are treated as part of the family and kittens are raised in the house, as part of the family, and well socialized before they go to their new homes.

I enjoy showing my cats as well as breeding and have been very successful;

Zacesta Carolina was the first Selkirk Rex cat to be titled in Western Australia and her son Plat. Grand Champion Mirkwood Sir Vivor Scrapdot, ACF AoE, has reached the highest award possible.

After being a very successful stud cat and producing a long line of Champions he is now desexed and is starting his show career again as a neuter.

He has been succeeded as stud by Mirkwood Noodles who has done very well on the bench as a kitten and now starts his show career as an entire.
