Niagara-on-the-Lake

Niagara-on-the-Lake is a picturesque town about half an hour's drive from Niagara Falls. We stayed in Niagara-on-the-Lake in a great B&B called Burberry House. The town itself is beautiful – the houses, restaurants and shops are all decorated and/or restored in period style and the gardens are amazing. It's really quaint. We were there on the Labour Day long weekend though, which meant that both Niagara-on-the-Lake and Niagara Falls were swarming with tourists (us included!).

The Falls

Anthony took about a billion photos of the falls, here are just some of them. Anthony took a ride on The Maid of the Mist, a boat that goes right under the falls. There's a photo of heaps of people making their way toward the gift shop after the boat ride, that's to show how busy it was! It was also a really hot day when we went, so it was great to be drenched by the mist.

Imogen swimming

The B&B that we stayed at had a pool, so after our long, hot day at Niagara Falls, we took a dip. This was Imogen's first time in a swimming pool and she loved it! She seemed to instinctively know what to do, splashing her little feet and doing a baby dog-paddle with her hands.

The Butterfly Observatory

In the Botanical Gardens in Niagara Falls there is a butterfly observatory. Imogen absolutely loved this place – she was grabbing at leaves and butterflies, completely amazed by all that was around her. Anthony and I had a brilliant time too, it was a beautiful place and a great experience.

Other stuff

Here are some other photos that we took on the trip. Love the photo of Imogen crashed out on the way home! She'd had three action-packed days so it was no surprise that she was tuckered-out.
