Below are a list of quality Classical Guitars that I am very pleased to be able to offer for sale. I have selected these myself, and regard them all as great value for their price, and great guitars in their own right.
Katoh Classical Guitars
I have a number of Katoh Classical guitars as shown below. These are all brand new and in perfect condition. Simply amazing guitars for the price.
Katoh Flamenco 1A Guitar
This guitar is brand new, in perfect condition. It is handmade from the Katoh Milestones Luthier Center
Spruce top. Cypress back and sides.
Where to start with this guitar. By far and away the nicest flamenco I have ever played, but then I'm a classical player and have not delved into flamenco guitars a great deal. It has an absolutely beautiful sound, and it is so satisfying to play.
Comes in an hard shell lightweight case.
Normally retails for $3495, this one $1400.
Katoh Madrid Classical Guitar
This guitar is brand new, but a second, as it has some VERY light marks on the back.
Solid Indian rosewood back and sides. Select mahogany neck with ebony fingerboard and Spanish fan bracing. Bone nut and saddle. Premium machine heads. Savarez 500AJ strings. Gloss natural finish.
Comes in an original Katoh deluxe case.
Normally retails for around $1995, this one $1400.
Katoh Alex/CS Classical Guitar
This guitar is brand new, but a second. It has a very small scratch on the back. I have been unable to photograph this. It is very small and only noticable if looking very carefully.
Custom 19th century style guitar, Solid Spruce top, Mahogany back and sides and neck, rosewood fingerboard, "moustache" bridge, wood rosette, flamed maple headstock veneer, deluxe gold plated machine heads, traditional gloss finish.
This guitar does not come in a case, and is still packed in it's original cardboard box.
Interesting instrument. It does not have the big sound, and especially the bottom end response of a modern size classical, but it has a subtle transparency that is very easy and pleasant to listen to. Could be a very good instrument for recording.
Normally retails for $995, this one $650.
I can also provide repairs to guitars, particularly electricals, such as pickup replacement, rewiring (eg changing between active to passive), etc. Email or phone to see if I can help.
Cort Source Electric Guitar
Brand new in perfect condition. Cort version of the ES335. Set-Neck construction, Maple Top Back & Sides, 42mm (1.65") nut width, maple top, Canadian Maple C Shape neck with Ivory Binding, Rosewood fingerboard 305mm (12") radius, 22 Medium Sized Nickel frets, 24.75" scale length, Dot inlays, Vintage tuners, T.O.M Bridge & Stop Tailpiece, ClassicRocker-II Pickups (Alnico II), 2 Volume, 2 Tone, 3way switch, Nickel hardware, Semi Hollow Double Cutaway Body - 2 6/9” body depth.
Comes in a soft gig bag.
I have compared this to an original Gibson, and there are differences. The Cort is lighter. This means it is not balanced as nicely when standing up and playing. The cort has a tendency to start to rotate downwards with the weight of the neck bringing it down. This is only just noticeable, when you take you hands and arms off it. The pickups sound pretty similar, but the Gibson seemed to have a slightly higher output. They both play pretty much the same, and thats comparing the Cort straight out of the box from the factory with my friends nicely set up original.
If weight is an issue, and less is better, then the Cort is a good option. If you don't mind a bit extra weight so that the guitar sits nicely when standing, and you have the extra $3k plus, well, there are some gents at the local music shop eagerly awaiting your custom.
Retails for $899, this one for $550.
Acoustic Steel String Guitars
Mayson M10/SCE2 Semi Acoustic Guitar
Brand new, in perfect condition. Mayson Marquis shape, solid Engelmann spruce top, cocobolo back and sides, mahogany neck, ebony fingerboard with MOP dots, ebony bridge, transparent pickguard, nickel 372-AS machine heads, bone saddle and nut, double action truss rod, 645mm scale length, 495mm body length, 395mm body width, 112mm body depth, 45mm top nut width, LR Baggs Anthem electronics, GM-40 deluxe gigbag.
This guitar is simply supurb. Acoustically its pretty good, but this pick up system is the best I have ever tried. Absolutely stunning.
This guitar normally retails for $2195. This Price: $1300.
Cort Custom Shop Semi Acoustic Guitar
This has been my own guitar for some years, but never really play it so it's time to move it on. Has probably been played for around 1 hour in it's life. I purchased this guitar as a second. It has a small split in the side, on the back where the output socket is located, as shown in the photo, as well as a repair to a small split in the neck near the nut. This latter repair will have been done at the factory when it was made. The actual repair is a bit rough, but the finish over it is supurb. I know this would have been done at the factory because this guitar I purchased direct from the importers of Cort at the time, and they never bothered repairing these sort of things. This issues are very stable, and have never changed in the years I have had it. I have tried to photograph it in such a way as to make the split as onbvious as possible. Not quite that obvious in the flesh.
I have just got it back from a complete checkup. The volume of the strings through an amplifier was not uniform. It turned out that the bottom of the saddle slot was not exactly flat anymore. Sashar Amos from Sashar Amos Guitars has rectified this, and done a complete setup and checkup. It now plays supurbly.
It comes in it's original Custom case.
Supurb sounding guitar. From the original Custom Shop in Korea.
Price: $1500. These were around $3000 when available.
Oakridge Square Neck Resonator Guitar
Brand New, perfect condition. Mahogany back, top, sides and neck. Rosewood fingerboard, with frets (which always surprises me, as they are not likely to get used). Die-cast machine heads. Chrome plated hardware.
Normally retails for $500, this one $290.
