Quad 4 x 12 Speaker Cabinet.
This is a second hand cabinet in which I have installed some of my stockpile of speakers. I have been playing around a bit with mixing speakers in a cabinet. This one contains 2 McKenzie 1275GP sepakers and 2 Guya GSG.300509 speakers.
The Mckenzie speakers are brand new, made in England. McKenzie were used in Marshal amps prior to them moving to Celestion. The Guya speakers have had some use, made in Japan, and used in Guyatone equipment. Both speakers I have found to be pretty reasonable. Together this cab, to me, sounds very nice. It's probably not as eficient as a cab with Celestions, but the sound is great.
This cab is made from high grade 11 ply timber. Very well constructed, and is on castors. All speakers are 8 ohm. The cabinet is wired up in 8 ohm.
Laney 2 x 10 Speaker Cabinet.
This is a second hand Laney cabinet in which I have installed some of my stockpile of speakers. This one contains 2 x 10" Fender Blue Label speakers. They are 16 ohm speakers wired in parralel, so this is an 8 ohm cabinet. The speakers are an original 70's unit that has been unused till now. They have been sitting on a shelf in the warehouse that was, in the day, the Fender dealer in Autralia, to be used as spare parts. The codes on the side of the speakers are: 014527 16 ohms 40763. As well as 2857932. Both speakers have the same code, so they were made at the same time by the same manufacturer. The latter suggests its manufacturer is Rola, either here in Australia or in England, and was made in the 32nd week of 1979. Does not state how many watts. I imagine there may not be to many of these made by Rola versions around.
I am able to install any of the 10" speakers listed on the Speakers Page. This is a closed back cabinet. It sounds exceptional! If you like the bright clean Fender like sound, with that crystal clear and clean top end then this will not disappoint.
This cab is a standard Laney thing. Reasonably well made, from MDF I think.
Ultra Tone Baseman Seventeen Guitar Amplifier
This is an old Australian made valve amp. Labelled as a bass amp, presumably as it is a very basic amp with, well, no frills whatsoever. This amp has been completely refurbished and reworked by Ross Giles. New capacitors, and all the good valves. Ross also has reworked some of the circuitry so it behaves itself, as it was doing some undesirable things. This was a $375 rebuild.
I'm planning to build a box for this amp head, or possibly build it into a combo, but untill I get round to it, it's for sale as is.
Bass Guitar Speaker Box
This speaker cab I have built, using 18mm Birch ply. Extremely strongly made. All joints are cleated. Hand wired. Uses 2x 10' speakers as used by Laney in many of their high power bass amps, which are brand new. These speakers were used as replacements for the Laney B2 bass amps, which were capable of around 400 watts. Speakers are 8 ohm each. Cab is wired up as a 16 ohm cab, so it would suit the addition of another box as well, in case, as I have done with my amp, you use a 2 x 10" with a 15" speaker cab as well. I am able to wire it up in 4 ohm configuration if required.
I have built speaker boxes in the past, but never applied tolex to them. This, being my first, is a bit rough, but looks OK from the front.
The amp head shown in the photo is no longer available. The cab only is for sale.
SX Guitar Amplifier
This is a used amplifier that came to me not working, and missing the back panel. I have installed a new volume pot, and replaced the back panel with a piece of plywood. It now works perfectly, well, as good as it ever did.
I believe it is a 10 watt monster. Has the usual tone controls and an over drive switch. It actually doesn't sound that bad for a little thing.
Electro Harmonix Effects Pedals
I have 2 Electro Harmonix pedals left. These are ex demo items. They may have been used, but not much. Come in their original boxes.
Electro Harmonix Tube EQ
This is as new. Comes with a power supply. E.H. seem to use a few different power supplies, that have differing connecting plugs. This one has an unusual 2 prong plug that is not at all standard, so if your running this pedal from a power source you will need this particular power supply. This is not an original EH power supply but it is exactly the same.
In the pedal world, I guess everyone has their favourite. This for me is up there. I tested it out using a very ordinary transistor amp and 10 inch speaker, and this pedal really did give me the feel of playing a tube amp. I imagine it would also work very nicely plugged straight into a P.A. though I haven't tried that yet.
Check the E.H. website here for a demo
Normally retails for $509. This price $250.
Electro Harmonix Enigma Q Balls
This is as new. Does not include power supply.
Perfect for giving you a whole new world of sounds to add to your bass playing. Check the E.H. website here for a demo
Normally retails for $499. This price $200.
Artec Big Dots In Line Tuner
Brand New. Sits in line with your guitar and the amp and other pedals. Hit the footswitch and tune up, hit the footswitch again and your back through the amp.
Normally retails for $100. This price $40.
Artec Blues Overdrive
Brand New. This features the Artec version of a tube emulated overdrive circuit. Controll are high and low, level and gain.
Don't mind this pedal. There are worse overdrive pedals.
Normally retails for $90. This price $40.
New 50 foot speaker cables. These are the Spectrum profssional range. I am able to adjust the length for anyone wanting a specific length, though this will be an extra cost.
The Speakon cable is 15 guage, 2 conductor cable, in 7 mm jacket.
Normally retails for $56. This price $30.
Heavy duty 4 core speaker cable
And I mean heavy duty! Ki-Audio, Extremely rugged stuff. 4 core for use with speakon 4 pole plugs.
Price $10 per meter. I am happy to construct speaker leads with this stuff.
I am able to post anywhere in Australia.
Microphone cables, 20 foot. 2 types. One has hinged XLR balanced connectors on both ends. The other has fixed (i.e. normal) XLR connectors.
This price $15 each.
Battery Box For Cort Guitars
This battery box is the one used in Cort guitars (and others to I guess) with active eq's that use a 9volt battery.
Price: $12 each.
Micro Switch ON/ON/ON
This micro switch is used in a few different EH pedals, and can be used in guitar switch wiring that uses an On/On/On switch. PLEASE NOTE this is a type 2 on/on/on switch. I inadvertently ordered a few to many when needing some. The centre on connections are shown in the diagram. This sort of thing is hard to find. These I purchased from Small Bear Electronics in the U.S.
Yes I'm charging a bit more than they do, but I had to pay for shipping to Australia.
Price: $8 each.
For a good explanation of how this and other sitches work, Check this article from Seymour Duncan
Empty Foldback Wedge
This is an empty Laney foldback box. Will take a 10' speaker and a piezo type horn. Was designed to house an amplifier as well. This will need to be blocked off if used passively. It's unused, as the amp was not working and the other parts used elsewhere.
I can suply a 10' speaker and will also have some metal speaker grill that should cover the driver.
Empty Laney LA65D Acoustic Guitar Amplifier Cabinet.
This is an empty Laney acoustic amp cab. Will take 2 x 8" speakers. Would be OK as just a speaker box.
Empty Laney Acoustic Guitar Amplifier Cabinet.
This is an empty Laney acoustic amp cab. Will take 2 x 6" speakers (I think). Would be OK as just a speaker box.
Electric Guitar pickups
Three Korean made humbucker guitar pickups. Checked and working perfectly. Price: $60.
LANEY SPARE PARTS
I have available a number of Laney circuit boards, and some spare parts such as input sockets, XLR inputs etc. If there is anything in particular required, please ask. All parts are new and genuine Laney.

As used in various Laney amplifiers, like the TT series etc. Basically Laney use 2 sizes. This is the larger one. It measures 424mm long and 110mm wide. I imagine it should work in any amp that uses a spring reverb unit.
