Foreword

I don't know why I'm putting this section in because I think my poetry is crap (others disagree apparently). Nevertheless it expresses my feelings at the time I am writing rather well. Some of it may be a bit overdone, but that is inevitable (hell the average age at which I wrote these was about 18! :) If you want to quote any (not that you're likely to! :-) please e-mail me ... the web addresses stay the same, I put them in incrementally rather than by date sort. Unfortunately I've lost some of my best poems but here's what's left..

The list

  • 09.11.98 - a generally cynical look at the world around me.
  • 09.11.98 - an inspirational poem, based upon the sentiment "my life will go on".
  • 20.08.97 - a rather abstract piece of writing about the cruelty of happiness
  • 26.04.97 - written in second person to a friend whom I dearly love ...
  • 12.10.96 - written to someone who needed to feel wanted ...
  • 23.09.96 - a short, but sweet poem, I wrote to someone I was deeply in love with.
  • 10.08.96 - a poem for the lonely ... lots of imagery
  • 02.08.96 - something dramatic for the Olympics...
  • 27.07.96 - something I wrote on one of many occasions when I realised that only love keeps me alive ...
  • 27.10.95 - a love poem I wrote when I thought I had the perfect girl in my arms...
  • 08.08.94 - a rather dark expression of disillusionment with society. It's got some rather interesting questions in it though about life and stuff.
  • 06.08.94 - something I wrote on a somewhat desperate occasion.
  • 21.05.94 - written after a storm that knocked out the electricity for 3 days...
  • 18.03.92 - a poor person's perspective on his world, written for a Social Studies assignment.
  • ??.05.91 - My Fantasy. Written for a Perth City Council competition in year 8, I got third place and a photograph in the community newspaper for this one. :)
